Our user interface’s bulk file search feature allows premium subscribers — individuals and institutions — to access and download prepackaged data files in a compressed format. This exclusive feature enables premium subscribers to quickly obtain entire datasets with a single download, which is not available to non-premium users. Premium subscribers must be logged in to access this feature.

Both final trade data and tariffline data are available in bulk file format. Additionally, the bulk file interface provides premium subscribers access to datasets in converted classifications, which are unavailable in the standard user interface. For more information, please visit: Why are some converted datasets not accessible in the UI?

This interface allows for full dataset downloads in compressed CSV formats. Users can download entire classification periods, as well as reporter-classification periods. Since the files have already been generated, this feature offers quicker access to large amounts of data. Please be aware that the data is compressed using gzip.

It’s important to note that we no longer provide a single file for all reporters in a single period due to a tenfold increase in the volume of data processed and disseminated. To make the process easier for users, the data is now available in separate bulk files by country as soon as it’s ready.

Bulk files are available in Comtrade Plus format for reported and converted classifications and in classic format for reported classifications. See UN Comtrade – Data Items and References.

Example 1: User requests for 2018 annual merchandise trade data for all reporters in their reported classification

Example 2: User requests for 2018 December merchandise trade data for Australia in H4 classification

Example 3: User requests for 2018 trade in services data for all reporters in EBOPS 2002 classification
