Does UN Comtrade provide buyer/supplier-level data?

We frequently get asked if the UN Comtrade database includes the following details:

  • Name and contact details of suppliers (exports) and buyers (importers)
  • Shipment date
  • Average prices
  • Origin and Destination Port Details

The UN Comtrade database does not provide buyer/supplier-level data. It focuses on trade statistics at the country level and does not include specific information about the names and contact details of individual suppliers (exporters) or buyers (importers).
